A concrete sculpture of a human back, supported by a bracket of rebar.
The back is the body’s largest surface and remains largely unseen by oneself. It exists in a space between intimacy and distance, often encountered through the touch of others. A simple gesture, such as a pat, can communicate comfort, reassurance, or acknowledgement.
This work considers touch as a means of registering presence. By translating the softness of the human body into concrete and steel, it reflects on how material, weight, and support shape the way presence is felt and confirmed.
